The Missouri Federation of Republican Women Will host the National Federation of Republican Women Convention Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2011 in Kansas City.

To raise money for our portion of the convention($100,00) you may purchase opportunities to win:

a Longaberger basket donated by Violet Corbett

a whole ham donated by Kathy Chinn

Opportunities are $2.00 each or $5.00 for 3.

Please contact any executive committee member, see us at your district meeting, the state board meeting in January or at state convention in June to purchase your tickets.

The drawing will be held at the MoFRW Convention in June.

The updated information for the Breckenridge Scholar application is available at the Breckenridge Scholar link on the Events tab. A scholar from each district will need to be selected at fall district meetings. Please complete the form in its entirety. Tane' Schwartzman is chairmain of the Breckenridge Scholars for 2010-2011.

Sue Lynch, President of the National Federation of Republican Women, debated Democrat strategist, Dick Harpootlian, former chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party, on the upcoming U.S. Senate elections and the balance of power in that chamber. The political segment aired live July 31 on FOX News' "America's News HQ" with Gregg Jarrett and Julie Banderas.

The NFRW Summer Magazine has been mailed and hopefully most of you have received your copy.

Congratulations to Arleen Jackson and Cathern Long for recognition in the magazine for their endeavors toward increasing membership.

Good luck to each of our candidates in the August 3 primary. You are all winners for your desire to serve.

MISSOURI STATE FAIR

MISSOURI STATE FAIR

Volunteers are needed on Thursday, August 19 from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM, to assist on MoFRW Day at the Republican Tent. Volunteers are needed for any amount of time they can spend. Plenty of time to enjoy the Fair, in addition to helping at the tent.

It's a fun day - lots of literature, people and photo opportunities with our legislators.

Free parking, admission to Fair is $8.00. Our tent is popular - because of our great volunteers AND we have one of the few with a fan AND water cooler!

Hotel/motel reservations for those who would like to stay over are hard to come by but Joy Gerstein still has access at the Best Western and I would need to let her know SOON.
