Congressman Marsha Blackburn to speak at MO Lincoln Days
JEFFERSON CITY— The Missouri Republican Party, Missouri Association of Republicans, and the Missouri Federation of Republican Women are excited to announce the keynote speaker for the MoFRW luncheon at the 2010 Missouri Lincoln Days celebration: Congressman Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee. “Representative Blackburn is a stalwart conservative and leader of the conservative movement, and we are excited to announce that she will headline the Missouri Federation of Republican Women’s annual luncheon at our statewide Lincoln Days,” said David Cole, Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party. Elected to Congress in 2002, Rep. Blackburn has focused on implementing meaningful immigration reform, reducing federal spending, strengthening national security, protecting taxpayers and supporting families. She has earned a host of awards and accolades from organizations such as Americans for Tax Reform, the American Conservative Union, the Family Research Council, and National Right to Life, among others. She is a frequent guest on television and talk radio. “Congressman Marsha Blackburn has risen to national prominence as a committed conservative and Republican leader, and we are thrilled that Congressman Marsha Blackburn will share her vision of the conservative movement with the Missouri Federation of Republican Women,” said Kathy Drake, President of the Missouri Federation of Republican Women. “Congressman Blackburn’s insight could not come at a more important time, as the Missouri Republican Party has embarked on an ambitious effort to recruit, educate, and mobilize women in advance of the 2010 elections.” In 2009, the Missouri Federation of Republican Women included 51 chapters and nearly 1,500 members across the state. Their annual luncheon is held each year in conjunction with Lincoln Days to recognize clubs and individuals for their hard work and achievements. The 2010 Missouri Lincoln Days celebration will take place February 26-28 in St. Charles, MO. Special guests include Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and Rep. Marsha Blackburn.
